F-TYPE breaks cover at the Festival of Speed, treating the public to the first look at a top-down camo version of the stunning all-aluminum two-seater.
While still under development, a disguised F-TYPE powered by a supercharged V6 climbed the legendary Goodwood Hill this past weekend. Available in mid-2013, the F-TYPE will be available with supercharged V6 and V8 engines up to and including the 550-horsepower V8 that generates 500 foot pounds of torque. The top option 5.0-liter V8 should be capable of powering the two-seater to 60 mph in the high-fours, low-fives and a top speed of more than 180 mph. Driving the two-seater up the Hill was Mike Cross, Jaguar’s Head of Vehicle Integrity.
“The Goodwood Festival of Speed is focused around the dynamic hill runs where the public can see, hear and smell the cars. This is why we have chosen it as the place to showcase an F-TYPE prototype,” said Adrian Hallmark,
Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars.
